Hello all,

There is less than 1 week to go until Lowmead Reloaded 2008. Pre nominations are closed, so for those who haven’t nominated, you will be able to nominate on the day. Numbers are not capped this year, so you will be assured a ride. If you have a nom form please bring it with you completed, as this helps speed up the processing. If you sent in your pre nom and money, and you don’t receive anything before Saturday, front up at the nomination area to receive your receipt and sticker. To help clarify any pricing concerns, riding the open track will set you back $75, less if you have a current MQ license and bring it on the day.

We have been busy finalising the tracks over the last few weekends. I would like to thank Brad Johnstone, Tony Larson, Eric Batty, Ken Darcy, Steven Hill, Chris Jensen, Mark Ruthenberg, Les Beckman, Keith Armstrong, John Scoleri, Brad & Jodie Harris, Wayne and Sandra Onions and anyone else who has helped in any way to get the event to this stage.

There will be a number of people heading down to Lowmead on Friday to set up the camp ground, as well as the marques that have been donated for our use by Monodelphous and Queensland Alumina. The signs will also be erected on Friday morning, directing traffic to the camp site from the Lowmead turnoff on the Bruce highway at the Granite Creek rest stop. The  camp ground will be open on Friday to anybody wanting to arrive early and help with the setup. Riding around the camp ground is not permitted for both adults and children alike.

Fires are permitted and firewood will be supplied by the landowner. There are limited amenities - long drop toilets but no showers. Please bring your own water for drinking and showering. The local Pony Club and P&C will be catering on Saturday and Sunday for those who don’t want to cook. The bar will be open Saturday night. I encourage you all to support these Clubs, as a number of their members are landowners who are permitting our Club access to ride on their properties for this event.

I would also like to thank our sponsors “Mild to Wild Motorcycles”, “Gladstone Motorbike Accessories”, “Gladstone Motorcycles”, “Harbour City Motorcycles”, “Active Motorcycles”, “Monodelphous”, “All Style Signs” and “Art By Mickey” as they have once again outdone themselves with their support and donations of prizes for this event. Get in and buy those raffle tickets as there are a number of prize draws Saturday night prior to the video of the days’ action on the big screen.

Let’s hope this will be another successful year at Lowmead and I encourage all riders to take it easy on the tracks. Remember, it’s not a race, we’re here for the fun! Please remember NO fireworks lads and consideration to others when it comes time for hitting the hay would be appreciated.

Cheers
